Job Purpose:

The Business Intelligence Analyst uses data analytics and visualization techniques to transform data into insights that drive business value. The Business Intelligence Analyst identifies data patterns and trends to help management and executive leadership teams make informed business decisions and drive process improvement. The position will collaborate across departments to discern available data and internal processes. This individual is also responsible for generating schedules and internal labor hours estimates for customer projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce business intelligence by querying data repositories and generating periodic reports
  • Create business intelligence tools or systems
  • Manage timely flow of information to users
  • Synthesize available data to support recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Routine monitoring of metrics
  • Analyze information and determine underlying reasons or facts
  • Analyze return on investment (ROI) and financial justification
  • Create Microsoft Project schedules and internal labor estimates for customer projects using historical data, input from engineering and vendors, and fundamental project management knowledge
  • Effectively communicate with leadership and peers
  • Interpret the meaning and use of information for others
  • Present a professional image to customers and vendors
  • Support and embrace the AHS vision, mission, and values
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, mathematics economics, statistics, or related field is preferred
  • Skilled in data analytics and data visualization using tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, R, Python, and/or Power BI
  • Experience with Connector Reports (ODBC, web hooks, API)
  • Proficient generating and updating schedules in Microsoft Project
  • Critical thinker skilled at using logic and reasoning to approach problems
  • Effective communicator and active listener
  • Strong inductive reasoning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must have high initiative and ability to work without direct supervision with a high degree of responsibility
  • Travel up to 20% or as needed

Working Conditions:

  • Some weekend/night work required as needed
  • Working with computers for a long period of time
  • Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities
  • Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels
